Come as you are. There’s no need to worry about knowing what to do or say—this is a place to learn and grow. We’re glad you’re here and are always happy to answer questions or help.

We seek to honor Shabbat by dressing with respect and modesty, reflecting the value Scripture places on how we present ourselves. In Jewish tradition, what is precious is covered—and we believe every person is deeply precious in the sight of God. And modest jeans are welcome!

You may notice that some men wear a kippah (yarmulke) and a tallit (prayer shawl). These are personal expressions of devotion and are not required.

At Tikkun Olam, we believe that true growth begins in the heart. As Yeshua taught, “These people honor Me with their lips, but their hearts are far from Me” (Matthew 15:8). Our desire is to cultivate a genuine, inward faith that is then reflected outward in how we live.

What to Expect

Our service includes liturgical prayer—often expressed through song—along with praise and worship, Torah reading from a scroll, and a message. Some of our songs are sung in Hebrew, with English translations provided so all can participate.

After the service, we continue in fellowship with an oneg (a Hebrew word meaning “delight”). This shared meal is a time to connect—celebrating victories, supporting one another through challenges, and enjoying food together. We also gather for Shabbat Table Talk, where we discuss the week’s Torah portion, ask questions, and grow together through meaningful conversation.

As it is written by Rabbi Shimon:
Three who eat at one table and speak words of Torah, it is as if they have eaten at God’s table, as it is stated, ‘And he said to me: This is the table that is before God’ (Ezekiel 41:22).”

We believe that studying and walking in God’s Word brings healing—healing for ourselves, our families, our communities, and a broken world. As Proverbs 4:22 says, “For they are life to those who find them, and health to their whole being.” (CJB)
