Who We Are
Tikkun Olam was born from a deep conviction that broken things can be repaired — we know, because we've lived it.
We are a community of believers who celebrate Messiah Yeshua in His original setting — Judaism. We believe that discovering who Yeshua is within His Jewish context reveals who He truly is — and that knowing Him, and drawing ever closer to Him, is the key to repairing broken hearts, broken homes, broken communities, and a broken world. That conviction is our name: Tikkun Olam, the repairing of the world. Along the way, we hold fast to integrity and to community above self.
Community Life
Life at Tikkun Olam happens around the table as much as in the sanctuary. Each Shabbat ends with an oneg — a shared meal where victories are celebrated, burdens are carried together, and Shabbat Table Talk turns the week's Torah portion into honest conversation. Through the year we celebrate the appointed times together: retelling the Exodus around the Pesach seder table — haggadot open, matzah broken, and plague masks on the little ones (and a few grown-ups) — building and gathering in the sukkah at Sukkot, waving the lulav, dressing up (sometimes elaborately!) for Purim, and lighting the menorah publicly at Marshall Park each Hanukkah, inviting our neighbors in Richland County to share the light. Our children aren't spectators here; they carry the challah, wave the flags, and learn Torah alongside us.
We are a community of people at different places in the journey—some new, some seasoned—but all committed to growing. We are not perfect. But we do pursue.

Our Leadership
Tikkun Olam is led not by a single personality but by a community serving together. Moreh Benjamin teaches on Shabbat, and a team of members shares the work of worship, children's classes, hospitality, and care. We believe leadership in Messiah's community looks like a towel and a basin, not a stage.
Connected Beyond Lexington
Though we're a small congregation, we're part of a larger Messianic world. Our members and leaders participate in conferences and gatherings from Orlando to Bogotá, appear on Messianic broadcasts, and stand with the Jewish community publicly and civically here in Ohio.

Who Is Welcome?
At Tikkun Olam, everyone is welcome. Whether you are Jewish or Gentile, a lifelong believer or simply beginning to explore the Scriptures, we invite you to join us. You do not need a Jewish background, knowledge of Hebrew, or prior experience in a Messianic congregation to feel at home here. We believe God looks beyond our ancestry and sees the heart. If your desire is to know Him more deeply, to discover Yeshua in His original Jewish context, and to grow in faithful obedience to His Word, you will find a place among us. We are a community committed to walking together in humility, asking honest questions, and encouraging one another as we pursue the Lord.
What Makes Tikkun Olam Different?
Tikkun Olam is a Messianic Jewish congregation that embraces both the Jewish foundations of the Scriptures and the life, death, and resurrection of Yeshua, the promised Messiah of Israel. Our worship reflects the rich heritage of the Jewish faith while proclaiming Yeshua as the fulfillment of God's promises. Each Shabbat we worship through traditional Jewish liturgy, praise, prayer, Torah reading from a scroll, biblical teaching, and fellowship. Rather than viewing the Torah and Messiah as separate paths, we believe they reveal one unified story of God's redemption.
People from both Jewish and Christian backgrounds often find familiar elements in our services, along with meaningful traditions that may be new. Those new experiences often become the very things people come to treasure most, providing a deeper appreciation for the Bible, its historical context, and God's unfolding plan of redemption. Our goal is not simply to gain knowledge, but to become disciples whose lives increasingly reflect the character of Messiah.
Our Mission
Our mission is to help people discover Yeshua in His original Jewish context, grow in faithful obedience to God's Word, and reflect His light in every area of life. We seek to build a community where Scripture is taught faithfully, worship is centered on the God of Israel, families are strengthened, disciples are equipped, and lives are transformed. As we pursue Messiah together, our desire is to participate in God's work of restoration—one life, one family, and one community at a time.
